I noticed recently that the time offsets in
Date and time all use British time (GMT), not Universal time (UTC). GMT is UTC+00:00, and UTC has no offset because it’s the standard that all other timezones are measured against. So Brisbane’s time is GMT+10:00 in Android which is UTC+00:00+10:00, when it could more simply be UTC+10:00.
I realise that at the end of the day, the time is still correct. Is there a good reason from this, or did the programmers not understand the difference between UTC and GMT?
