- After being refused entry and removed from Heathrow, can I visit England? 2 answers
I was a student studying in the UK, I was withdrawn from my studies at University about 6 months ago as I am writing this question. I had to leave the country for a few months due to the appeal process requiring a few months to process. Long story short, the appeal was unsuccessful. After seeing that it wasn’t worth pursuing the case further, I flew back to pack and ship my belongings, to clean up my apartment, cancel contracts (gym memberships, phone providers, etc…), etc…
I am a non-Visa national, so I thought I was able to enter the country without the need for a visitors visa, for up to 3 months. I decided to stay for about a month, 43 days to be exact as those were the cheapest flight dates. Upon my arrival, I decided to be completely honest to the immigration officer, in case they discovered something on record and refused my entry and also mentioned I was entering as a visitor, not a student. Turns out that was the biggest mistake I could have made. I was detained for 11 hours, was interviewed and allowed to enter as a person liable to be detained or something like that and given 14-days to appeal, but the officer told me the appeal wouldn’t be successful since I admitted to being withdrawn. And told me to just use the 14 days to pack up.
The dumbest thing was, I went with my dad and they allowed him to enter but detained me.
Due to recent events, I really need to return to the UK to settle some things that I didn’t manage to resolve in those 14 days. I’ve been in the UK since high school, that was 6 years of my life that I had to resolve. It was rather last minute, so I have no time to book an appointment for a visitors VISA, even with the express service.
Just some extra information. I found out that my student visa was still valid when I re-entered previously and could have just told them I was a student. But thought it was safer to disclose everything since they might have had a record, also my university notified home office that my visa sponsorship a few weeks prior to the day I decided to fly to the UK so I thought I had to disclose it anyway. However, Home Office was only officially notified a month ago, and my curtailment to leave is in a month. Would this cause any further problems?
I could not re-apply to another university due to the UKVI’s academic progression requirements. However, I have already been accepted into a university in Australia, would this be useful in any way in proving that I am not trying to overstay? Additionally, the thing that made the IO raise his eyebrows were mostly from the long stay. This time around I am only entering for less than 2 weeks.
Sorry for how disorganized my question is, I am in quite a bit of a frantic situation.
