Goal: To access sites that require my certificate while having any arbitrary unlock method and not needing to repeat the process after every reboot
So I have a rooted angler Nexus 6P run Resurrection Remix 7.1. Currently I login with fingerprint/pattern or 6×6 pattern.
When I try to access restricted sites, I am prompted to accept/install a certificate. However, when I restart my phone, I am prompted for a “credential storage password” which I don’t have. What I have been doing is clearing my credentials and re-adding the certificate but I was hoping a better, more permanent suggestion.
Apparently this issue has been around for years, but when I tried some of the solutions like this or this require I change my unlock method or don’t persist after boot. I don’t particularly care about security but rather convenience (I’m fine with having my certificates not encrypted).
Additional note: I did not have this problem using 7.1 with stock Android
