We are using a custom Android device running on Android 5.0.1, which does not have a power button per say and no battery: when we plug in the device, then it boots, and we usually plug off the device to stop it.
When I use commands like adb shell su -c 'svc power shutdown', the device will show the Shutdown dialog and after will automatically restart, I’m guessing there must be something somewhere that prevents a complete shutdown since there is no button to power it back on.
So I’m looking for a command or something to “prepare for shutdown”, but not power off the device. Maybe it would show the “shutdown” dialog but then show a message to tell the user to plug the device off?
