I am 28 years old, no debt except for about 29k in student debt. I invested 3k in Bitcoin in the Fall and have quadrupled my money. That was my first investment – now I want to move some of the gains into a traditaionl investment like a Roth IRA. For the record, I make about 33k a year, live pretty simply and frugally and only spend about 1800 a month. I want to start a Roth IRA ASAP. I see that the yearly annual contributions cant go above 5.5k but what about the initial investment? Can it be over 5.5k? Is it worth it for me now to take the $ 2000 money in my savings that is doing nothing to start my Roth IRA – or should I wait a bit until the $ 2000 is more like 4 or 5k as the initial investment? Thanks for any advice!!!!!!!!
