My MotoG4 currently has Android 7 and I’m trying to downgrade to Android 6.
I unlocked the device according to Motorola’s instructions.
I downloaded the XT1625 image (which matches my device’s SKU) from Motorola’s site. However, when I execute the first command “fastboot flash partition gpt.bin” I get the following output:
(bootloader) slot-count: not found (bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found (bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found (bootloader) has-slot:partition: not found target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes sending 'partition' (32 KB)... OKAY [ 0.005s] writing 'partition'... (bootloader) Security version downgrade (bootloader) Image primary_gpt failed validation (bootloader) Preflash validation failed FAILED (remote failure) finished. total time: 0.049s
How can I work around this? I’ve read some posts that seem to indicate my device has a newer version than the one I’m trying to add and this makes downgrading impossible…I’m hoping that isn’t correct. Any suggestions?
