I’m 19 and I’m a car enthusiast. I love cars. I drive an old station wagon. It’s ok and it does what I need it to do. I plan on getting a new car soon as mine is getting expensive to own. Whenever I tell people what cars I’m looking at and I just want a regular 4 door, they get really confused. They’ll say “You’re not a car enthusiast. A car enthusiast has a sports/muscle car!” I don’t get it. There’s many different types of car enthusiasts. Someone who drives a Ferrari is probably not going racing. They probably got it to show off wealth. Sure there are some people who take it to a race track and go fast with it. Same with people who have a 60s era American muscle car. Why do people think you need something fast, expensive, or flashy to be a car enthusiast? I’m friends with a lot of car enthusiasts and they drive a regular car. Like a Toyota Camry, Ford Escape, or Chevy Impala. Sure I’d like to have a Mustang or Corvette but, I don’t need that right now. I’d want something like that for weekends and maybe occasional track days.
