I work as a customer service agent for a line of automobiles. One of their complementary services they offer is 24 months of free navigation services with the purchase of our line of vehicles, courtesy of Google maps/street view. Well, for reasons not stated to any of us, Google decided to pull out of the deal and terminated their relationship with our company. While this annoyed customers (but they learned to live with it), we have one nutjob who is legitimately threatening to sue the company for “breach of contract” …and has been hounding our department with numerous phone calls with empty threats that are difficult to stifle our laughter from (“I am going to own this company and PERSONALLY pack your things up and escort you out of the building!”) Aside from the ridiculous threats, we are talking about a FREE complimentary service. The terms and conditions state that the given trial period, it would cost X amount every month. Would it really constitute a breach of contract if the service was free and costed the customer literally nothing in the first place?
