I’ve been riding bikes for years, yet I just recently got put on pre trial diversion probation. As long as I don’t get anything above a Misdemeanor A, then I’m fine in regards to tickets and what not. So what would riding without tags, insurance, and a license warrant me in the state of Tennessee? I usually don’t stop for cops, but my freedom is on edge so I’m having to make the decision as to what would be better for me in the future… continue running and evading (which is effortly easy on a bike), pull over and take the beating, or put my babies up… this is coming from a guy that has lived his life around bikes, only owns bikes, rides rain snow sleet or hail doesn’t matter, and is completely dedicated to the bike life and never has owned and never will own a cage. So again, if I pull over and accept all the bells and whistles, what can I be slapped with AT THE MOST? I wouldn’t think it’s a felony because when I was younger and getting my feels for the bike life, I always stopped and the cops would be like; “Do you want a ticket or a butt chewing?” And I’d always opt for the lesser and take the chewing and be on my way. A felony I’d assume I would have been in handcuffs. So it has to be a misdemeanor, but what degree? A, B, C or D? Thanks!
