I was rear ended around the first week of December. After I got into the accident, I immediately filed a claim with the at fault persons insurance (Safeco) and then filed a PIP claim with mine. It was about 3 weeks until I was actually able to get a call back from the claims adjustor from Safeco. Once I got into contact with the claims adjustor she said they had admitted liability, and would be paying for everything. I took my car to get repaired but it came out to be a total loss, very unfortunate. The only reason that I know it was a total loss was because I called the body shop after a week of me dropping off my car they were the ones to let me know. After I found out it was a total loss I immediately called the claims adjuster and just my luck, she didn’t answer. About 2 days ago I got a call from another person who said he would be dealing with my car being a total loss, unfortunately I was at work so I wasn’t able to answer. I left him a voicemail and he still hasn’t called me back. I’m a bit annoyed of the fact that not only have they not called me back but I still don’t what they are estimating my car to cost. I still have the rental car from when I dropped off my vehicle to get fixed about 2 weeks ago. My questions are will I be charged for still having the rental car since the insurance hasn’t even called me to make me an offer, and what can I do if another week goes by and I still haven’t heard from them?
