Hi, so recently, my grandmother did the Ancestry DNA test, and her results were actually quite surprising. I’ve always known that my grandma’s parents were German, although her DNA test results turned out to be a little bit different and cooler! The results said that she was half German, and the other half was mostly Italian and Greek. Upon hearing this, I thought it was really cool, since it was different than what I’ve been told growing up. I mostly find the Greek part pretty fascinating, since I’ve studied Ancient Greece and all of its famous philosophers throughout the centuries. Also, when I look at people who are of Greek descent, they look more Middle-Eastern than those in other European countries. So, I was wondering, are most Greek people of Egyptian, Israeli, Turkish, or some other Middle Eastern heritage? And if so, is there a chance that I may have traces of this blood in me? Because that would be pretty cool if I found out that I was maybe part Israeli or Egyptian. If anyone has knowledge on this field or can possibly answer my question due to their own heritage, I’d love to hear an answer! My overall question is wondering whether or not Greek people may have Middle Eastern descent, and what countries in particular they could have ties with? Thanks!!
