My mom is coming to visit for her 60th birthday next week. She lives in another state. She has become friendly with my husband’s family over previous visits and our wedding. In Christmas, they all expressed a desire to meet for dinner and celebrate her birthday when I mentioned she was coming. Well a lot has happened since Christmas somehow and my father in law is now in the hospital with pneumonia, but he is in his 80s and there’s complications.. So sadly, this might be it. He hasn’t eaten in 4 days. I really don’t feel comfortable calling anyone about meeting for dinner for her birthday during this. But I’m doubting myself because my mom was excited about the idea and my cousins and aunts wanted a ladies night out to celebrate. I told her tonight that it doesn’t feel appropriate to plan anything right now. That’s correct right? It’s inappropriate to plan anything during this right? I cant imagine even bringing this up to my mother and sister in law right now. Advice please…
