I’ve set up regular system authentication with PAM and Winbind. With the pam_mkhomedir module, Active Directory users automatically get a home directory when logging in for the first time. I’d like a similar thing with MariaDB, but the PAM authentication backend requires manually creating a database account with the same name as the person logging in with PAM. I’m looking for a way to allow dozens of people to be able to log into MariaDB with PAM without me needing to manually create their accounts.
