I hate the default font. I have checked (using the app System Fonts) and found that I have a couple more fonts installed in my system (and I actually saw them in the /system/fonts folder, thanks to Total Commander for Android) , but there is no option to switch to any of them. All I get when I enter Settings > Display is “Font size” (where I can choose from Huge to Small), and there are no other font options anywhere (I’ve looked). I have tried some of the font changer apps for Android, but they only work on rooted phones. I’ve also tried deleting the default font, and deleting all fonts except the one I like, but without success (“permission denied”). My last resort were various launchers, which completely changed the overall look and organization of the system (for worse) and left me no choice but to uninstall.
Is there any way to simply change from the default font to another, pre-installed font without having to go through launchers or rooting?
My device is Acer Liquid Z520, with Android 4.4.2 on it.
