I know why checkpoint are used in SQL Server, but I don’t know how to use them and how to see whether it works or not? Consider I am inserting 10000 rows in a table manually inside a transaction, shall I write
CHECKPOINT command after each 100 rows?
Or I should determine it based on time?
If database crashes(or sudden system shut down), how can I see which data I have missed due to buffering and which data have been saved on disk?
Based on this tutorial and some others, I have to see the checkpoint on Performance Monitor from
SQL Server: Buffer Manager : checkpoint Page/sec.
But I can’t find it on my Performance Monitor.
I am using SQL Server 2014.
